Look up the radium girls, then get back to me on how good it is.

Radium was not discovered until 1898 and there’s no such thing as a radium fireplace

Wrong - No — there were never real household radium fireplaces. Radium had only been discovered 12 years earlier (1898), so it was still seen as a miracle substance. Artists and the public speculated wildly about using it for everything — including heat. In reality:
• Radium is extremely rare and was (and is) astronomically expensive.
• It is highly radioactive and dangerous.
• No company ever built or sold actual radium-powered fireplaces.
There were many other quack radium products in the early 1900s (drinking water, cosmetics, “health” tonics, luminous paint), but heating fireplaces with the element itself never happened.

No, radium and radon are not the same, but they are closely related because radon is a radioactive gas produced by the natural decay of radium.
Key Differences
• State of Matter:Radium is a solid, silvery-white metallic chemical element. Radon is a heavy, colorless, odorless, and tasteless radioactive noble gas. Relationship: Radium comes from the breakdown of uranium in the earth. As radium breaks down (decays), it turns into radon gas. Health Risks:Radium acts like calcium in the body and can accumulate in the bones, increasing the risk of bone cancer. Radon can build up in homes and enclosed spaces from the soil below, and breathing it in damages lung tissue, making it a leading cause of lung cancer. If you're interested, I can share:How radon enters homes from the groundSteps to test your home for radon levels.
