@shaynateresetaylor: Quick note, this is not my meat board. I only cook on wood, never plastic, and I keep a separate board just for meat. - Squeeze fresh lemon juice all over the board - Add a generous layer of coarse sea salt - Rub the lemon halves into the salt until it turns into a bit of a paste - Pour white vinegar or apple cider vinegar over the board, this is where the antibacterial work happens, then let it sit for at least 30 minutes - Sprinkle on baking soda and rub it in - Finish with boiling hot water poured over the entire board If you still catch any onion or garlic smell, just repeat the process. Once it's clean and dry, rub in an oil to condition the wood. I use refined or fractionated coconut oil, but any oil that won't go rancid works. Make sure you keep your cutting board in a drawer or cabinet in between uses! All natural, no harsh chemicals, and your board stays like new for years. Save this for the next time your cutting board needs a good clean!
