Etsy has been such a POS my account got locked and they demanded I re verify my identity. But their AI BS said my old photo on my valid ID didn’t match so I was deemed to not be me, no chance to appeal to a human.

Etsy is so terrible now idk how there’s like no alternatives. A marketplace that platforms small businesses is such a good idea and it doesn’t even exist anymore. Etsy boosts dropshippers and punishes actual small businesses. My mom had been using Etsy since 2005 when she became a single mom in uni. She was able to get a small home and pay bills and stay in uni. She ended up closing her storefront a couple years ago and becoming a teacher because Etsy is so terrible towards small businesses.

I think it was PayPal that I hadn’t logged into for years and when I tried to log in to donate to an indigenous cause, my 10+ year old account was suspended for fraudulent activity. How?? I haven’t used it for YEARS. There was no appeal process.

ETSY has just become a cesspool of a company, it doesn’t put a stop to people stealing your work, it allows tonnes of genAI rubbish, closes down shops with no explanations and withholds funds…I don’t use ETSY at all anymore, it really has gone way beyond downhill.

I don t know if Etsy has customer service on twitter, but if they do try reaching out that way. my husband and I have found that the company s customer service that is handled by humans only exists on twitter.

have you heard of mayhem marketplace? its newer so probably won't get the traffic of Etsy but I looked into it a little and it looks pretty good so far (do your due diligence of course, it may not be right for you)
