@audaciousfoolblog: Japan Farewell Tour Diaries 📔 Pt. 1 Everyone’s been asking me how I’m feeling about leaving Japan and there’s always a shock at my response. Of course there’s a sense of mourning- some places leave such a lasting imprint on you that part of your spirit will always be intertwined with them. But I don’t know if it’s getting older or what, but there’s nothing more important than the relationships you have. The novelty of traveling wears off and sometimes all you crave is your favorite people. I’ve put distance between me and my hometown for the majority of my 20’s because who I was there wasn’t who I wanted to be. Sometimes being known can feel limiting- like you are weighed down by the expectations of who you always were and it doesn’t leave room for exploration. But being known is also very tender. It’s a beautiful thing to be seen and understood - history and all. Fortunately and unfortunately, I will always be tied to my hometown.
