Three years ago, I was just a girl filming random moments on her phone. No fancy equipment, no glam team, no clear direction, just vibes, passion and the desire to document my everyday life. Fast forward to now, and I got an invite to the Trendupp Awards as an attendee/content creator. Me, Tola, a whole invite to celebrate creators across Africa. If that’s not growth, I don’t know what is. This content creation journey has changed my life in the most beautiful way. It’s made me more intentional, more expressive, more confident. It’s not just about aesthetics and angles, it’s about storytelling and giving out value. About finding beauty in the everyday and choosing to share it. From filming random solo dates, to discovering hidden gems in Lagos, to editing late at night with sleepy eyes, I’m not just making videos anymore, I’m building something which is My voice, My brand and My name. And to be honest? It feels so good to be seen. So this is a HUGE thank you to @thisistrendupp for creating a platform like this, for recognizing the hard work that goes on behind the scenes, for giving content creators across Africa a night to shine, for reminding us that what we do matters. You didn’t just host an award show. You created a safe space where creatives like me can dream louder, show up prouder and keep going even when the algorithm is doing anyhow. So if you’ve been thinking of starting, this is your sign. Don’t wait till you have it all figured out. Your everyday moments are content so just press record. I actually didn’t plan to make a vlog.
