@crimexpod: Mexican music was shaken by a devastating tragedy on September 1, 2026, when 38-year-old composer, producer, and keyboardist Jonathan Meléndez was killed at his home in Atizapán de Zaragoza, State of Mexico. Meléndez, known as a founding member of indie rock and synth-pop group Camilo Séptimo, was reportedly murdered alongside his pregnant wife, Ana Paola, their 3-year-old daughter, a 21-year-old domestic worker, and the family dog. Authorities said the victims were found restrained with duct tape and had been shot. The couple’s 6-year-old son survived the attack unharmed.
