POV: The Impala suddenly slows. You glance at Dean, confused, as he pulls onto the side of the road and kills the engine. Before you can ask what he’s doing, his door swings open. He walks around the front of the Impala without saying a word. Then your door opens. You look up at him. Dean doesn’t meet your eyes for long. Instead, he moves and opens the back door. He steps aside, one hand resting on the roof of the car. “Get in.” You stare at him. “What?” His eyes finally find yours. “Get in.” There’s something different in his voice now. Lower. Rougher. You don’t move. “Dean—” “Let me prove it.” Your brows pull together. “Prove what?” His gaze holds yours. “That she’s no one.” Your heart beats harder. “You don’t have to prove anything.” “I do.” He leans slightly closer, his voice dropping. “Because I can see it all over your pretty face.” You look away. “I don’t care.” “Yeah?” His mouth curves faintly. “Then get in.” You hesitate. Dean’s expression darkens as he waits. Not angry. Not impatient, just certain. And somehow, that makes your pulse race even more. You slowly slide out of the passenger seat. Dean steps back, giving you room, you climb into the back of the car. You watch him stand there but then, he climbs inside. Your breath catches as he shuts the door behind him, suddenly leaving the two of you alone in the confined darkness of the backseat. Dean looks at you for a long moment. Then he grabs the hem of his T-shirt and pulls it over his head, tossing it beside him. You swallow. “Dean…” He doesn’t answer. He shifts closer until there’s barely any space between you. Then he leans over you, bracing one hand against the seat beside your head, his face inches from yours. His eyes search yours. “Still think she meant something to me?” You shake your head slowly. “No.” “Good.” His voice is barely above a whisper. “Because I need you to understand something.” He lowers himself just enough that his forehead nearly touches yours. “I didn’t look at her the way I look at you.” His gaze drops to your lips. “And I sure as hell don’t stop the Impala in the middle of nowhere just to prove something to her.” A faint smile touches his mouth. “I did that for you, Y/N” #jensenacklesedits #spn #deanwinchester #deanwinchesteredits #jensenackles - @babyimpala67x
