@anayaceesay: I don’t make a scene when I notice I’m being left out on purpose. None of it needs a reaction in the moment. I just quietly notice who actually made room for me and who didn’t, and that tells me more than anything anyone says out loud.
That “You can come if you want” literally means if you wana come so bad come 😂

I’ve learned exclusion is a losers game. They want you to feel bad ab yourself, but don’t actually have sh!t on you. “You can’t sit w us” is all they have 😂

at work, I was excluded from a project where I was the only engineer with actual experience on said type of project. I stood on the side when I saw it burn to the ground. I was asked for help and excused myself saying I didn't had the official scope thus I could not take over it. 😁

On this plus side, this has allowed me to become that much more intentional about making people feel included. ❤️

I listened to my work colleagues plan a team Christmas event, my team was a fraction of the size and reported into the same manager even sat at adjoining desks. They sent out the invites and we weren’t included. Fine, they want to be separate, fine. They didn’t get enough people rsvp yes to secure their booking for their venue. I then watched my manager sit with them and brainstorm how to get the numbers up and suggesting to invite us. Except I had deliberately organised our own little team party at a different event for the same night, and we had already bought our tickets.😁

I always up the ante on this subject. When you are excluded or left behind by friends from gatherings, events, group trips and vacations, it’s not just the organizer or host that left you off the invite list. The others in the group see this but choose to say nothing. True friends, step up and speak up. They advocate for your presence. They advocate for YOU. By choosing to remain silent, and not ask questions, they show that they didn’t want you there either. Obviously it depends on the situation. Yet if you’re consistently left out, the excuse of “I wasn’t the one organizing it” or “talk to so & so, he sent out the invite” doesn’t fly. Not with me. It’s not just the organizer that I hold accountable. By choosing to say nothing and just go with the flow, you chose to leave me behind as well. You’re not just an innocent bystander. Inaction *is* action. Read what I said above and remember it always.

Heavy on the quietly noticing and noting it. Once i realise im not being included or considered, i stop fighting for that friendship. I have friends who have me in chat groups where im always included in the plans, even tho i never use social media. Real friends don't make you feel excluded or give you a chase invite.
