Hi. Glad i came across this. I recently moved from a temporary accodomation hb paid by council now into my permanent where ive now had to apply for support from UC. I've just noticed i have been effected by the benefit cap due to this. I work 16 hrs sadly at minimum wage however i pay into NHS pension should this be included when working out my take home pay as essentially i am earning 881.23. Should i be capped? Do i need to work more hours or stop paying into my nhs pension to avoid the benefit cap as i now loose 1001 i have 5 dependanta at home. Your advice would be appreciated 🤗

Sorry but I still don’t understand this, if I’m entitled to this amount then why is there a benefit cap? I might as well not be entitled to this in the first place.
