@economyvodka: How can you live in a city where people aren’t actually outside. Like what is the point. I can’t believe NYC is one of the FEW walkable cities in the US, this country is so behind. #tennessee #newyorkcity #europe #walkablecities #foryou
It’s crazy that’s 99% of Americas problems can be traced back to suburbs and we all know why suburbs were created

nah because I'm stuck in Nashville after moving from Chicago... I cry over this daily, I don't drive and it's so isolating and genuinely terrifying.

I’m an immigrant who lived in a walkable city with reliable public transportation, I moved to the Midwest and you genuinely can’t do anything without a car 🥀😔

I'm white, I've also traveled all over the place, and Nashville is the big city I've felt the least safe in. I was followed around a gas station and watched while I pumped gas. I've only ever had that in small towns I've had to stop at where I obviously stood out.

Ugh. I’m in the Midwest in a large city and it’s not walkable at all. There’s not even adequate public transit even. It’s awful.

I work in a walkable town and even at nighttime, it’s so active and full of people because you can just walk everywhere, like even families with young kids feel safe enough to just stroll around late at night

Also having to walk along stroads with fast moving cars is so stress inducing. I distinctly remember having to cross a stroad (before I had a car) to catch a bus to go home. I was stuck on the median (pictured) and it was absolute nightmare fuel.

Nashville is really tough for this reason. If we had a better bus system it could change things dramatically. Trying to use the bus as much as possible makes me fell so much more connected to the city.
