She absolutely needs the max sentence possible but I’m not sure her petty theft was enough to warrant a high speed pursuit. At some point I feel like law enforcement needs to factor in the safety of the general public when high speed chases start. Like does the safety of public outweigh what the offense was?

Many police stations across this country suspended high-speed chases all for this reason. Too many innocent people have been severely hurt or died. Here is a perfect example. These cops made a mistake. A young girl loses her life over a petty theft. Then she assaulted a cop but is he really hurt? Instead a teenager was killed.

I understand the quandary faced with high speed chases of petty crime. But, when and who draws the line as to what is serious enough to chase? Chase burglars? Grand theft offenders? Assault and battery offenders? Where is the justice for those victims if you just let the perps flee without consequences?
