Selfishness / selflessness doesn’t matter or invalidate anything if they still care about you regardless of the particular circumstances for leaving. I say this proudly because my ex broke up with me from a place of feeling emotionally overwhelmed due to a lot of big life events happening at the same time and shutting down from it. Even the I didn’t understand what she was going through and that confusion and shock devastated me, I’ve done the therapy work to learn to understand what her experience was and what the breakup taught me about myself, and I yearn for her so much. She’s added so many roses to my garden that the thorns holding them are worth it. We’re human, we’re not perfect, we live and we learn, and to me, unconditional love doesn’t judge or keep score, it chooses to love regardless of the circumstances 🫶🏽
