So human rights violation aside (force feeding is historically considered t*rture--i think per the geneva conventions) from a medical ethics standpoint 1) does no one realize the risk of refeeding syndrome which is fatal? Especially the doctors condoing this? This could be a death sentence and without labs and potentially TPN or PPN reintroducing enteral nutrition after extended samtarvation could cause ☠️from force feeding regardless of weight... 2)why surgical g tube vs NG -- you can also rip surgical tubes out --ask any parent of a special needs kiddo or anyone with one--and if thats the concern regarding surgical vs NG there are things they do to NG tubes to prevent/decrease that risk beyond just tape and restraints--ask anyone who was inpatient for anorexia nervosa. 3) does anyone realize how high the risk of infection is post op for this and long term--especially in a setting like this without routine medical care? Infection of an unhealed stoma and even a healed one is a huge risk of ☠️
