yep. great analysis and to this day people don't get this was always the case. stagnation vs growth. it's also really telling because during the time Goku, Gohan and the others were training, Cell was not training at all. what use is training for a being that is already "perfect"? I swear Dragon Ball's writing is super underrated.

I really wish we got Goku as more of a teacher or master figure. I really hope once the Uub comes they keep Goku as a more of a master figure .

This is also backed up by the fact that both characters are consistent of Goku's DNA, except Cell was created using technical methodology like science and experiments, while Gohan was raised using love and discipline.
