Mounts used to be hard to achieve. You had to grind to save the gold for one, let alone an epic one. Or you had to hardcore earn it (netherdrake). Now they’re just another collectible item.

I can care less about the “mage boosting” part… however… I still very much enjoyed being able to go back on my mage to old dungeons like Uldaman or ST or Strath etc and be able to solo farm greens and bosses etc…. Can’t do that anymore :/

I've always really disliked the fact in retail that every zone scales with your level and I miss the excitement of going to different zones for a new challenge, level 30 getting to STV was peak 😂

Hunters pets not having a care meter or whatever it’s called :( I enjoyed feeding them and it made it feel more personal if they could actually leave if unhappy 😭

Hunting down rares with a group, that were actually rare and having them drop amazing items that were useful. Now most can be soloed and drop gray fluff and maybe an achievement.

Dungeon and Raid finder. Getting a group together on your server made the game more social and prevented people from just leaving because you could actually get a reputation.
