@bodhiandkai: Since 1972 over 124,000 of these vintage candy shops have disappeared due to convienience stores. But this one opened in 2004. The owner used to run udon and yakiniku shops, but he loved old buildings and vintage memorabilia since he was a kid. To bring that charm back he made this, an authentic replica of the candy shops from his childhood that no longer existed with authentic video games, candies, and merchendise. The ground floor holds over 1000 kinds of rare vintage candies. The second floor, is a recreation of retro entertainment such as a slot car racing machine, old video game sets, toys and a movie theatere. It's a fitting place for the store to be considering this area used to be Tokyo's toy district. Shibamata is also known for the famous movie series 男は辛いよ! You should look onto it they have the original sweets shop still open and a museum dedicated to the series I recommend checking it out it’s down the street from that location.
