I would love to see a season where it's all contestants who have no dance experience, and another season where's it's all contestants with experience. Makes the competition a lot more exciting and unpredictable.

I think not having dance experience makes you more coachable. Ciara had a lot of dance experience, so Brandon had to teach a lot outta her. Whereas Maura had no experience so was a clean slate.

They have experience learning choreography so they will learn things so much faster and then be fine tuning from then on. You’re so right about this.

Even years of intense training in other styles, there’s lots of unlearning to do. And there’s certainly different kinds of dance “training”, taking lessons for performing and non competitive is a lot different than competitive trained dancers who are highly skilled and trained for hours a day for years. It’s really not the same.

Yes ALL of this!! That’s why I always root against the trained dancers. I remember back when it was a big deal to have Melissa rycroft on, and she had only been a cheerleader. Or gymnasts/figure skaters were controversial. And then increasingly over the years it became normalized to have stars who literally had dancing as part of their career - Nicole Scherzinger, zendaya, heather morris. And Whitney Leavitt as a contestant was wild. Like what even is this show anymore. Dancing with the dancers.

I literally think even gymnasts and cheerleaders and musicians have an advantage. I don’t mind at all. But these people have learned choreo and they can hear music etc. BB is on point here.

I agree with this, and i love the experienced dancers. its unfair. and inevitably hurts the shows credibility as a legit dance competition. the fact that they keep taking away the judges having the final vote and people are comfortable always saying "the best dancer doesnt always win"... truly shows how far it has fallen. but he is 100% right.. its an advantage. He just named about 10 LEGIT things that are an advantage. lets be forreal. I just wished the my had more people on similar levels versus a 25 year old dancer vs a 65 year old man with a hip replacement
