Gifted ADHD, or twice exceptional, can feel like having a brain that understands everything—but struggles to turn that understanding into action. You can be incredibly smart and still struggle to start the simplest task. You can understand something in minutes, explain it perfectly, and then spend hours avoiding the thing you need to do. You can be praised for being “gifted” for years, while everyone misses the executive-function struggles happening underneath. You can learn for six hours about something you're obsessed with, but feel completely stuck on a 20-minute task. You can know exactly what you need to do and still wonder why you can't make yourself do it. So eventually, you start questioning yourself. “If I’m actually capable, why is this so hard?” That’s one of the hardest parts of being twice exceptional: your ability can hide your struggles until the demands become too big to hide. Being capable doesn't mean everything should be easy. Your ability hides your daily struggles until the mental overload finally spills over. You aren't lazy; your brain's execution center just isn't wired to match its processing power What was the exact age you realized your "gifted" brain was actually exhausted? Send this to that one friend who needs a reminder that they aren't broken... #adhd #brain #Science #neurodivergent #adultadhd
