@preschoolvibes: I love making class books with my preschoolers where every child gets their own page and the text follows the same repetitive pattern. That repetition helps children feel like readers because they quickly learn what the page is going to say. We read the large class copy together, and I often make mini versions for each child to take home. These books build concepts of print, book handling, left to right tracking, oral language, memory, confidence, and the understanding that print carries meaning. I’ve also seen firsthand how valuable the take home copies can be. My own kids would read their preschool class books over and over all year long.
