Some states (PA did it this year) offer a very limited number of bulk seed packets full of native meadow plants! They were completely free from PA.

been doing this in our neighborhood. we have .75 of an acre, mowed paths, planted native, did a garden, squash arches and garden, flower beds. we have had people stop by and say they have never seen hummingbirds till they walked by, now they stop and see em everday. it seems daunting but its worth it and can be done with a little bit of work.
