When Clinton was in office, I had to leave a dangerous relationship when my son was 13 months old. Waiting tables was almost impossible. Hilary developed a program called “Women off Welfare”. I was lucky enough to get into it. Changed my life! Self esteem classes, mock interviews, sent me to school to learn medical coding, paid my daycare for a year when I got a job. A year later I bought a brand new car. The year after that, I bought my first home. 30 years later I’ve just gone up the ladder! I’ll always be grateful!! What a difference in party priorities!!

I mean, is this really like an us against them though because stay at home mom’s sacrifice a lot so that they can stay home and they can provide for their children. Studies have shown that it is better for children to stay with a parent during the formative years of their life. I understand that working single mothers work really hard, but they are usually able to get government assistance that often exceeds the amount that would be given to stay at home mothers. I understand like oh it’s so unfair. I didn’t have a relationship that worked out or I had a one night stand or I had this bad situation happen where my baby daddy didn’t want to be a dad and therefore I have to raise my kids all by myself. But ultimately that doesn’t change the fact that stay at home mom’s make a lot of sacrifices because they have one working parent. And it can be very difficult also having one parent who works and works and works and spends all of their time working and building a career and then having nothing out of a stay home mother to show for it regarding her own career. If I were to go get a job today. I wouldn’t be able to make hardly any money because I don’t have years of experience of working at a specific type of industry or any kind of degree that it’s going to start me off at the current livable wage. I don’t have any relevant work experience. It’s going to allow me to start off a job and get paid enough to survive. So if I were to get divorced today, I have nothing. This is not a situation of oh well, but married women don’t deserve this and single women do .
