09.10.2023 almost three years have passed. I still don’t know how that’s possible. i got married. I wish you could have seen me on that day. Shay had a baby after meeting the sweetest man following the tragedy of the last one. Sissy is doing so good in school, better than we ever thought she could, and she keeps pushing herself and proving everyone wrong. Grandpa finally moved off the hill. Jermey got married, and he’s happier than I’ve ever seen him. Tori started a marketing business, and it’s doing phenomenal. Bub is working toward becoming a firefighter. And me? I got a job that I genuinely enjoy. I moved out when I was 19. Shay moved out too and now lives with Cody in Tennessee. I’m getting everything together to become a labor and delivery nurse. Tiffany is going back to school too, and I already know you would be beyond proud of her. You would probably be shocked by how much we’ve all grown. But even with all of these good things, there’s still an empty space where you’re supposed to be. I wish you could have watched us grow up. I wish you could have been there for the weddings, the babies, the new jobs, the accomplishments, the ordinary days that somehow became important because you weren’t here to see them. I wish you knew how many times something happens and my first thought is, I wish you were here. Because life kept moving after you left, even when some of us didn’t feel ready for it to. please ask for help. if you’re struggling, call somebody. Tell somebody. Knock on a door. Send the text. Say the words even if you don’t know how to explain what you’re feeling. I know there are moments when your mind convinces you that nothing will ever get better. I know asking for help can feel impossible, embarrassing, or even pointless. But please believe me when I say that your life is worth the uncomfortable conversation. People would rather sit beside you while you fall apart than have to stand beside your obituary. You don’t have to figure everything out tonight. You just have to stay. Because there are still people you haven’t met, places you haven’t been, memories you haven’t made, and versions of yourself you haven’t had the chance to become.
