I wish I still had my necklace. My little brother was 9 months old when he was taken from us, and I carried him on my neck until my other brother (with severe autism) ripped him off my neck and broke it, my mom wouldn’t get me another or give me more of my youngest brother. As the older sister I feel like such a failure.🤕

I feel that in my soul, my oldest sister passed 23 years ago, my other sister passed 15 years ago. They are barely brought up anymore, I still feel like I’m missing a huge part of myself without them here. Then other days I catch myself wondering if they were ever real because it’s been so long since I’ve heard their voices or felt their touch. Losing siblings is a different type of loss, I wish no one had to go through.

except it’s my brother, I have kids now. a three year old and a four year old. sometimes they ask if they can wear “uncle Jake” and will play with him. our siblings are the ones we’re supposed to grow old with, we know our parents will die one day but our siblings arent supposed to. I’m so sorry
