I stopped calling them stories and started calling them recordings of life, because wow the depths of every single book just records the depth of God, we don't know the Lord as much as we think we do. His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts, honestly when I started picking up my Bible I stopped playing with God's authority. What took me out was how Saul and his son's dies and how they their bodies were hung outside the wall to show their defeat, it showed me how when God's presence leaves you, you are not the only one who suffers the consequences of your actions. Read Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. it gives the story such context. I'm rock solid but that book let me see God from a different perspective, I cried so much 😭
