I’m a post-op cardiac surgery nurse and I loooove my pressors, for sure, but if I had to choose, everyone would be on a lil bit of epi for the first 12-18 hours. The heart is stunned from plege, and epi helps with ⬆️contractility —> ⬆️cardiac output/index. Unless the patient is hypertensive, I’m always titrating epi off last.

but the beta 1 effect does it work at a certain dose because sometimes when u infuse adrenaline to a hypontensive patient even before taking blood pressure u can tell it has improved just by looking at a declining pulse rate however much the infusion is still running, could it be dose related . I would expect it to also stay high

My protocols call for 2-10 mcg/min for epi, norepi is 3-20 mcg/min 👀
