I did a (wyt xtian savior) mission trip to Honduras when I was 18. I was praised for going, and for loving them with Christ’s love. Then they wanted me to believe that those same people were dangerous invaders? I recognized that BS right away.

I showed the Bert the Turtle drop and cover PSA to my 8th grade class. They got a kick out of us thinking we could protect ourselves by getting under the desk. A quote from it became a slogan for my class, “and if you can’t find adult, you’re on your own”.

I get told I shouldn't travel because it's not safe but I've had similar experiences in that people are people everywhere and they are kind, fun and want to get to hear how we live while showing us how they live. Travel opens my mind to so many new views that we tough to us to fear.

Thank you for this. I say similar things constantly. We are all simply humans living our lives. There is really zero reason for hating other humans. We can simply support and raise up each other and all be successful together IMO.
