It’s fine though, y’all! My husband told me not worry because “it will all work out.” 🤪

For me it is a hatred of inefficiency and wasted time. I like things to be logical and run smoothly, to the extent that they can be.

I thought I possessed a superhuman ability to organize events that were seamless when I was in college. And I think it’s because of an over developed sense of all that could go wrong. 😂

Traveling with my husband got way better when I finally said out loud: My anxiety is why I get irritable trying to get out of the house. I am working on it, it's not intentional. Once I said that he made more of an effort to be on time, I got less reactive, and the entire experience is better for both of us.

This is exactly why I dislike Christmas. It’s not fun. It’s an anxiety ridden holiday and by the end I’m in tears. I wish to be normal so bad!

I want to do the fun thing without planning to do the fun thing, but I also dont want to be limited by the plans of another person while doing the fun thing, so then I say I will plan the fun thing, then I never plan it. 😅

When you’re in charge of the planning & things don’t go perfectly, or people have a bad time, you internalize it as your fault. It’s why I hate it when people tell me I’m too structured on vacation but then ALSO get mad when we’re spending 3 hours arguing about where to eat because I didn’t make reservations (at their request, cause they just wanna be loosey-goosey & have fun 🥰) and now everybody is hangry because they’re all picky eaters & can’t come to a decision & everywhere they CAN agree on is either full or has a crazy wait 😒

It’s exhausting! I’ve described this as being the safety net for the entire family, catching things all the time that others let slip through the cracks - but no one will catch if I let something slip, so I always have to be on alert. And it’s not imaginary or something, it gets reproved all the time. I’m the only one in the family with ADHD and that’s still the dynamic!

And then, when the event or trip is done and someone says something like, “I never want to go back there because this small thing went wrong.” And all you can think is how much it’s your fault that you didn’t know this random obscure thing about where you were traveling which then ruined the entire experience for someone else despite every other thing going perfectly. And it just makes that anxiety worse.
