I have too many friends.. I definitely have no backbone and allow myself to be used and taken advantage of quite frequently. I convince myself it’s because I’m so compassionate and love everyone… but really it’s because I hate myself and I am overly giving and compassionate as a way to make myself suffer for my mistakes. Less money, less time for myself, less love to give those closest to me so I feel alone all the time… no one can get too close to me because I spread myself too thin trying to help too many people. Leaving me to forever be the friend that is kind and cares.. but no one’s best friend and no one that pours that compassion and love back into me because I come off like I have no time for others. I’m either helping someone out or in a depression / burnout. I’m either too much or not enough… and never feel seen.

Having too many friends is a sign of weakness. A strong person is selective with their friendships because they have high standards and to be honest, the general public doesn’t have high quality… 2 to 3 close and strong friends max is a sign of a strong person…
