The weeks after 9/11 was the last time we were UNITED as a country. And it’s sad. There was no race no skin color no legal status no gender wars we were all Americans. Wish we could go back to those times

I think it’s hard to understand that time if you didn’t experience it. There really was a pre 9/11 America and a post 9/11 America. That day changed everything.
The patriotism afterward was incredible. Americans came together, flags were everywhere, and so many young men and women volunteered to serve because of 9/11.
My husband served two tours in Iraq, so what followed is very personal to me. TSA and Homeland Security didn’t even exist before 9/11. Can you imagine walking into the 15 minutes before your flight? I can and did. You can debate the decisions made afterward, but you can’t tell the story of 9/11 without showing what came next. It changed America forever, and we should never, ever forget that day, the lives lost, or the sacrifices that followed.

I make myself watch every new documentary about 911. I cry through every one of them. I think it’s important not to look away and to never forget. We owe it to the people who passed away in their families and the first responders that passed away.

I watched the 2 nd plane hit live on tv waiting to walk with my friend to my 10th grade history class. Our history teacher, Mr Ross was a marine. He told us we might not see him again after that day. He never came back to class. I always wonder what happened to him 😭

If you didn’t live it, you’ll find it maddening. If you did live it, it brings back the trauma.

That’s one of the days that everyone around the world remembers what they were doing when they heard the news.

Everytime I watch a documentary on 9/11 and they show the second plane hit the trauma floods back. The anxiety I felt is there again. We truly couldn’t comprehend what was happening. And then watching people jump to their death on live tv. You don’t forget those things

I was living in NYC at the time. I still remember the smell. The waiting. The looking for friends and family. The many funerals I had to attend. I also remember the unity, the patriotism that NYers felt. God bless America. Let us never forget.

There was September 10th…and then September 12th. Two different eras that we never gradually went into. We watched it in real time. We knew that night when we went to bed we were waking up to not only a different nation but a different world.

It's so wild to me that there is a whole generation now that wasn't born yet when 9/11 happened. I was a freshman in high school and it felt like time stopped 🇺🇸😔

The country literally stopped for days. The unity, strangers asking strangers "Are you ok" People obeying the law. How can 25 years later the same country be as messed up as it is and everyone is fine with it.

My wife and I watched it last night. Brings back so many memories(traumas?). To this day I can still hear the girl in our class scream “Daddy!!” When the second plane hit. (Her dad worked in tower 2. And never made it home. It sad younger generations will never know what it was like prior to 9/11.

If we forget the past, it opens the door for similar or worse things to happen again. Knowing about this day is important.
