Also what I don't understand is why people that have kids are trying so hard to convince me to have kids, even though at the same time they admit that their lifestyle changed completely, they are having less fun, have more responsibility. One friend for example is currently on a custody battle with his ex and still try to convince me that having kids is the way to go 😭 Bro, NO!!

I lived in Mexico in my 30s and women asked me all the time why I didn’t have kids. I’d say, “mi maquinita no funciona.” It was a lie but whatever. People totally left me alone when I said that.

I answer: my friends…aka this is why you spend time on building a community. Your children can be disabled, ill w/ a rare disease that has no research funding, neurodivergent, major behavioral issues, pass away early, affected by circumstances like poverty, etc. This mentality feels like a distorted or unrefined relationship to attachment. Creating connections creates the village they demand or assumed is built into motherhood/parenthood. Meanwhile, their children are part of the community too…

I like to say personally, I'd rather retire and let someone take care of me while paying them a livable wage. So there's a job opportunity for someone and I'm getting Healthcare.Also, I just hate kids, bro.

who will take care of you when you'll get old? I mean if you're 70 and you're healthy you still go anywhere without problems.. other than that nursing homes are for that. if you have kids , your kids will grow up will be probably live in different country than you so don't expect your kids to be around you all day everyday , they have better things to do
