@jane.sinnombre: On April 4, 2007, 54-year-old Gary Earl Post Sr. was shot and killed by several masked male robbers demanding money at the former Legacy Inn off Airport Square Lane and Williamsburg Road, near the Richmond International Airport in Henrico County, Virginia. One of the intruders, all of whom were armed with semiautomatic pistols, shot Gary in the chest when he was reaching for his wallet. The suspects were last seen driving away in a silver or tan late-model Pontiac. The same vehicle had been observed driving in and out of the motel all day. Gary and his two young adult sons were staying at the motel with plans to fly to Texas for a wedding the following day. They originally booked a different hotel, but a mix-up with the reservation landed them at the Legacy Inn. Gary was the son of Elva Gertrude Greene and Thomas Richard Post Sr. A married father of three children, Gary resided in Broadway, Virginia. He also had several siblings. The Town of Broadway holds an annual Kids Fishing Day in Gary’s memory. Gary was very involved in his community—he reportedly loved teaching children to fish, and he also coached youth baseball and softball. The Gary Post Reward Fund was raised by the family in an effort to identify those responsible. In a 2008 article in the Richmond Times-Dispatch, a list of 2007 Henrico County Homicides included Gary, along with the following additional homicide victims: - Danielle Wilson, 26 - Larry W.
