I'm a therapist, and I enjoy this app for connecting with other therapists who are sharing valuable professional tips and help. This is an amazing resource, but I only use it to help out my skills so I can bring it to my clients. I'm not sure where the abuser title fits in that case, but I'm so sorry - it seems like you've had some traumatic interactions with therapy? I would hope not, but there's bad apples in every profession unfortunately. Even therapy.

It’s a difficult line, I don’t hate therapists but I have made content about my therapist abusing me and had way too many therapists coming to the defense of the therapist and not being willing to analyze their own reactions or ethics and trying to separate him from the professional and that is wrong too. I think what happens is that some of them have been harmed by therapists and do distrust the profession and have a right too, not enough therapists consider that in their responses to someone taking their joke the wrong way. If it’s a joke about canceling, I don’t think it’s abusive but if it’s a joke at the expense of clients, I don’t think that it’s funny and does border an inappropriate line.

I honestly don’t get that. There are legit experts on TikTok and Instagram that make regular content. Making content does not make you unethical. I do not get it at all. Shouldn’t we be discussing the things that we know about? Doesn’t that help people?

Im a therapist and some TT therapist content is def questionable, often insufferable. The content you’re describing is going to land with a specific audience and not with others. Thats just social media and what you have to accept if you’re going to post to the general public rather than in a therapist only group.

I think it’s some people’s personal experience with like you said “bad“ therapists. I’ve also met some people who have tried therapy and stated that it does not work for them and therefore, they hate therapy. I think like everything there’s always gonna be someone who doesn’t like what you’re doing just got to move on with your day and block
