Even if you want a specific breed, if you are patient and persistent, you will find one in a shelter. I always wanted a ragdoll cat but didn’t want to pay thousands for one, I found one through a rescue. My husband wanted a blue heeler, specifically a puppy, we found one through a rescue.

All of our cats have been shelter cats. Also recommend to people “senior” cats or cats that may be undesirable. A lot of people want the cute furry kittens and there are so many sweet older cats already litter box trained and are just looking for love.
