On September 5th, 1895, after the arrest of the Sheikh, the Privy Council in Ndar met to discuss the situation of the Founder of Muridiyyah.They gathered all the reports they had from the spies, which were reports accusing him of getting ready to carry out a holy war against them. But the Sheikh demanded of them that they bring up those who accused him, in front of him. He wanted to talk to them. However, they refused such an act. So the Leader acknowledged that he was not ready to participate or collaborate in a trial where those who claimed all the allegations toward him could not be present. After a long argument between the Privy Council members about the right decision to take to deal with the Guide, three ideas emerged. One, some said to imprison the Sheikh in a jail, though many disagreed about that. They knew that if they committed an act like that, the Sheikh's followers would be coming from everywhere in Senegal and gathering around the prison where they jailed him, and that would lead to an atmosphere of unrest. Second, others suggested killing him. The masses threw that thought out in the air, after they agreed that taking the life of the Sheikh would definitely lead to revolts all over Senegal against the French. Also, they would not be able to control them. You can master some of them sometimes, but you cannot beat them all anytime. Lastly, at the end of their argument, they all agreed to exile Sheikh Ahmadou Bamba Mbacke to Gabon. That was very similar to the history of the Prophet Mouhammed (pbuh), when the non-believers in Makkah met in Darou Nadwa (the home of reunion) to decide his destiny. Whether they would kill him or kick him out of his town of birth, Makkah. They all agreed to kill him. In contrast, his Lord asked him to migrate to Yasrib, Medinah, on the same night they planned to end his noble life.
