i hate that comeback when people ask for more diversity. Like white people have thousands of iconic and stock characters to see themselves in but god forbid anyone else has more that a handful of leading roles

when people say they want more black Disney princesses or POC princesses in general it's more about original content like Tiana, not we want a "black version" of a pre established princess, and let's be real no matter how perfect an actress is in a role if the character wasn't POC to begin with they will always be seen as a POC version not just the character

I 100% agree without you. Brandy did the Broadway adaptation MUSICAL PRODUCTION Cinderella. Which is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. As for "Live Action" to me it would go to Lily James.

I think that it’s totally okay to be asking for more. Tiana’s story is great for showcasing that struggle and breaking that boundary after Brandy, but it’s totally valid to want a princess like Cinderella, Belle, etc. where their skin color isn’t central to the story, they just happen to be Black and/or POC. And doing it with an original tale instead of with a remake à la TLM will allow for that character to be unique instead of “reheating the nachos” per se of an already established white princess.
