@tummiapp: One of the BIGGEST feeding mistakes around 9 months? 👀 Serving food the same way you did at 6 months. Around 9 months, many babies start developing their pincer grasp — the ability to pick things up between their thumb and index finger 🤏 And once that skill shows up, the way you serve food should start evolving too. This is the time to let baby practice MORE than just grabbing big strips 👇 🥕 Start offering smaller pieces Think bite-sized pieces, soft shreds, and thin slices baby can pick up and bring to their mouth independently. 🥩 Try foods that crumble Soft meatballs, patties, and other tender foods break apart easily and give baby practice managing smaller pieces in their mouth. 🥒 Change up the textures Soft, chewy, mashed, shredded, lumpy… variety matters. Every new texture gives baby another chance to practice biting, chewing, and moving food around their mouth. 🥚 Don’t be afraid of mixed textures Foods like egg salad, mashed beans, or soft casseroles help baby learn to manage multiple textures in the same bite. 🥣 Keep the scoopable foods too Oatmeal, yogurt, bean dip, noodles, stews, and other soft meals are still great — especially for practicing with a spoon. Around 9 months, don’t just think about WHAT your baby is eating. Start paying attention to HOW you’re serving it. 🤏 Because the way you prepare food should grow with their skills. I use @tummi.app to keep track of baby’s feeding stage and quickly see how to safely prepare foods as they grow 🤍📱 Save this for when your baby hits the 9-month stage 👀 #startingsolids #9monthold #babyledweaning #babydevelopment #blw
