Rage. Grief. Despair. These emotions aren’t bad—they’re part of being human. Like in the heat of the moment when emotions are high, it’s proven unrealistic to think I’ll suddenly remember to use new tools. That’s why I need to practice developing my tools during the smaller, less intense moments of my day. For me, rage shows up in my throat, neck, shoulders, and head—it’s a full-body cutoff from the deeper feelings my anger is trying to protect. What comes before rage? Things like feeling disregarded, unappreciated, or like I don’t matter. When I’m being a conscious observer to notice those early signals, I have a chance to intervene before it escalates. 💡 Here’s how I practice: 👉 Put a hand on my throat, take a deep breath, and drop into my chest moving my hand to my heart. 👉 Wiggle my fingers, shake it out or imagine flushing my energy out through my feet into the earth. 👉 Use mantras or write sticky notes to keep reminders where I need them most—like on my car’s rearview mirror. The more I practice before the storm, the more likely I’ll remember these tools when the big waves hit. How do you support yourself in tough emotions? . . . . #EmotionalWellness #EmotionalHealth #HealingJourney #SelfGrowth #SelfHealing #MindfulLiving #MentalHealthMatters #EmotionalIntelligence #AngerManagement #MindBodyConnection #HealingTools #SelfCareTips #PersonalGrowth #EmotionalAwareness #MindfulnessPractice #FeelYourFeelings #InnerHealing #GroundingTechniques #EmotionalSupport #ConsciousLiving #PIVOT
