@coach_bridgetb: Take the worst thing he's done and ask yourself three questions. What did he do? How many times has it happened? What do you actually have to show for it? A lot of parents can answer the first question easily, they remember exactly what happened. The second question can be harder. Was it three times? Seven? Ten? And then there's the third question. Do you have a message? A report? A school record? A photograph? An email? Something with a date attached to it? This is where I would start looking at your documentation. Because there's a difference between saying: “He does this all the time.” And being able to say: “This happened eleven times. Here are the dates and the records I have for each one.” The second version gives you something concrete to work with. So go through the incidents that matter most and ask yourself those three questions. If you can answer all three, great. If you can't, don't beat yourself up about it. You've just found an area where your documentation could be stronger. That's useful information too.
