In the world of Arknights, the snowy regions—most notably the Ursus Empire and the Infy Icefields of the far north—are depicted as terrifying hellscapes due to a combination of environmental cruelty, political oppression, and cosmic horrors. The primary threat stems from the Collapsial, anomalous and terrifying cosmic entities lurking beneath the northern ice that distort reality and drive mortals to madness, forcing factions like Sami and Ursus to sacrifice countless lives to keep them contained. This omnipresent existential dread is further exacerbated by the brutal Originium mining camps operated by the tyrannical Ursus government, where infected outcasts are worked to death in freezing sub-zero temperatures, and the devastating Catastrophes that transform regular blizzards into lethal storms of active radioactive crystals

The only thing they have in common with Sami is that they have snow; otherwise, the Endfield map looks like any generic map from any popular gacha game these days, to be honest.

I just realized that the latest boss or the statue looking dude has the same stage as the IS in arknights which is that big ahh looking black hole. I haven't read the story about it but I'll look forward to it.

I had a theory on this: the snowy forest did not occur naturally. It was a displaced area that was brought by Sami the All-Father from Terra to Talos II, as the powers of the Feranmut are heavily tied to the Land that they own. (I haven't played Endfield for a long time, so I have no more news from the lore)
