@richtriggerbontrager: 🖖 60 YEARS OF STAR TREK — and yes, I’ve spent a few of those years aboard the Enterprise. 🚀 I’ve been a lifelong Star Trek fan. Kirk. Spock. McCoy. Picard. Sisko. Janeway. Archer. Pike — and all the crews and adventures that followed. For 60 years, Star Trek has invited us to imagine what might be waiting beyond the next star. And apparently, imagining takes some time. 😂 Put all those television episodes, animated adventures and movies together, and you’re looking at more than 900 HOURS of Star Trek — roughly 37+ DAYS of nonstop viewing. Challenge accepted. 🖖 But what has always made Star Trek special to me isn’t just the ships, phasers, Klingons, Vulcans or boldly going where no one has gone before. It’s the optimism behind it. The belief that despite our differences, failures and struggles, humanity can keep learning, exploring and becoming something better. That’s a pretty powerful signal to still be broadcasting 60 years later. So here’s to Gene Roddenberry’s crazy little idea that first hit television screens on September 8, 1966 — and somehow became part of our culture, our imagination and, for some of us, our lives. Happy 60th Anniversary, Star Trek. 🚀 May there always be another strange new world to explore. And, of course… Live long and prosper. 🖖 #StarTrek60 #StarTrek #LiveLongAndProsper #Trekkie #FinalFrontier
