@metaphysiko: The Waffle House was full when I walked in. Not busy. Full. Every booth had someone sitting in it. Every stool at the counter was occupied. But nobody was eating. Nobody was talking. They were all staring at the front door. I almost left. Then the waitress smiled. “Sit anywhere.” I chose a booth near the window. She brought me coffee without asking. I hadn’t ordered anything. I looked outside. It was 2:17 a.m. The parking lot was empty. No cars. No lights. Just rain. I looked back at the restaurant. Everyone was still staring at me. Then the cook rang the little bell. Once. Every person in the Waffle House turned toward the kitchen. The waitress leaned over my table. “Don’t answer if they call your name.” I laughed nervously. “Who?” She didn’t respond. A few seconds later, someone shouted from the kitchen. “Michael?” It was my name. Every customer slowly turned toward me. The waitress dropped her coffee pot. The lights flickered. Then the front door opened. A man walked inside. He looked exactly like me. Same jacket. Same shoes. Same wet hair. He walked straight toward my booth. I couldn’t move. He stopped beside me. Then he smiled. “You forgot something.” I whispered, “What?” He pointed at my coffee. There were two cups. I had only been given one. The second cup was still steaming. My name was written on it. Underneath my name were three words. YOU CAME BACK AGAIN. I looked at the waitress. She was crying. Then every customer stood up at once. The man beside me leaned closer. His voice dropped to a whisper. “Don’t look behind you.” I did anyway. There was another version of me sitting in the booth behind mine. And another behind him. And another behind that one. Every copy was staring at me. The waitress grabbed my arm. “Run.” I ran through the kitchen. The back door opened into the parking lot. I sprinted into the rain. Behind me, the Waffle House sign went dark. Then my phone vibrated. One new message. No number. Just four words. You left us hungry. I looked back. The restaurant was gone. There was only an empty lot. The next morning, I called the number listed for the Waffle House. A woman answered. I asked if the restaurant had been open the night before. She paused. Then said, “Sir, that location burned down eleven years ago.” I hung up. Then I noticed something on my kitchen table. A Waffle House receipt. Dated that morning. One item was listed. Coffee — $0.00 At the bottom, someone had written: TABLE FOR TWO. Then the chair across from me slowly pulled itself out. #horrortok #scary #scarystories #horrortiktok #wafflehouse
