This is terrible advice. You should never send back money from Zelle unless instructed by your bank. If you send it back and then the charge is still disputed with the bank, they will take the money out of your account twice and you will be SOL

Someone accidentally Zelled me $2000 so I contacted my bank and told them to contact their bank. It took about two months but eventually they reversed it. I was told in the no circumstance to send it back by reversing the transaction cause there’s a lot of scams so I let the banks handle it.

it happened to my man with his ex brother in law. The wife sent money to the wrong contact who had the same name. it was like $800. So he kept it. Because hie ex kept his gold chain and music speaker & ps4. So he took it as payment for his stuff 🤷♀️

terrible advice. there is a scam going around that uses this setup. if they accidentally send you money, dont give it back, let them reverse the transaction from their end. otherwise, you send it back, the person gets the cash, then the person who's card was used to pay you reverses and you are out the cash
