I am a big ORV fan I'd say so and I remember back then thinking when I ended ORV "This is the best story ever". but then I saw edits of other medias which were supposedly "better". the past me frowned and got angry. of course I tried them(Lotm, Ss, Tbate, Lotm and so on) and were rhey bad? no. were they better than ORV? not for me. of course I can agree there were aspects that they pleased me in way more than ORV ever did(battles, Worldbuilding, Antagonists..) but no story how better can never be what ORV is for me. i honestly thought that ORV fandom would be the most unparticipating in all of these scalings but hell was I wrong 😭 "Orv>attack on mid" how do you know what Attack on Titan is for the person you are saying it to? stories are to enjoy and to learn from May the ORV fandom learn and reflect🙏

These are actually some great takes on his character, but I do believe some of your points fall flat. I do concur with the statement that psychological resistance is one of the most important aspects of rigorous character writing, but this already feels as though your standards were intentionally punish Dokja’s characterization due to what you deem is a lack of psychological resistance. Those are your standards, so I won’t attack them, but I do feel as if your takes on Dokja’s character are reductive at best. On Part 4, you argue that the psychological flaws that Dokja does possess serve more as narrative advantages rather than actual flaws; meaning that you seem to compartmentalize the two rather than viewing both of them as inseparable. It allows him to analyze scenarios, BUT this further exacerbates his already existing conflict of reader vs participant. It allows him to understand the world in ways that other characters cannot, BUT this leads him to falling back into his isolationist tendencies, thus worsening his self-worth and leading to his self-sacrificial actions which cause more intragroup and relational conflict. This is a clear example of him meetings your own standards through the flow of psychological flaw -> failure -> consequences. It’s just that Dokja’s consequences are relational and internal rather than external. You argue that the cleverness ≠ rigor of exploration, but never elaborate on why this is or why the distinction matters in this case.
