unsolicited advise and I apologize for giving it, but it helped me a lot: warm bath with Epsom salt, soak hands for 10-15 min every evening. later on I Googled which herbs are good for joint pain and alternated epsom salt batch with soaking my hands in warm tea from those herbs and applied cream with herb extract afterwards. it does not work as good as medication, but it does help, especially if done regularly over longer period of timed it doesn't have any negative side effects.

I like to read it's pretty easy on my hands and when sometimes I can't hold a book I use my ereader but you can also use the kobo/kindle app on your phone, if you can't hold that put it against something, you can also listen to audiobooks!
