@feelingsbyella: Relationship disconnect doesn’t always have to mean something is terribly wrong. Sometimes it’s just a gap that slowly starts to grow. A misunderstanding. A story I’m telling myself. Hurt that turns into anger. Waiting for him to come to me first. Pulling away because I don’t feel connected. I’m finally starting to see the connection that feels lost isn’t always something that just magically returns on its own. I have to participate in creating it again. I have to check my story. Let him all the way in. Own my part. Choose connection before I feel connected… And after we’ve worked through the mental and emotional pieces, physical intimacy is what helps close that final gap and brings us back together with all of ourselves. I’m not pretending things don’t hurt, I’m just choosing to refuse to let hurt become unnecessary distance. I’m seeing connection isn’t something we either have or don’t have, but something we must intentionally work on to find our way back to each other.
