BRIDES-TO-BE 🚨 This is why her jhoomar started slipping… I had secured her jhoomar on top of her hijab, but it started slipping. This is why I always recommend my hijabi brides wear a good-quality, pure cotton undercap on their wedding day. ✨ Choose a cotton undercap that has good grip. ✨ It should fit securely and comfortably — not moving around underneath. ✨ The cotton gives us a much better base for securing pins and jewellery. ✨ Avoid very silky/slippery hijabs underneath heavy bridal jewellery when possible. ✨ If you're wearing a heavy jhoomar, tikka or dupatta, having a secure base becomes even more important. When there is only hair underneath, it's much harder to secure everything because we can't safely pin bridal jewellery directly into the scalp or rely on the hair to hold it. Think of your undercap as the foundation of your bridal hijab. If the foundation is secure, I have something to work with when securing your hijab, jhoomar, tikka and dupatta. Sometimes it's not about adding more and more pins — it's about having the right base underneath. So, my hijabi brides-to-be, please don't only think about how beautiful your hijab fabric looks.
