there was 12 , but Baylor called a timeout before ball was snapped , and Auburn only had 11 on the field for the 2 point play

It's the rule that allows defense to substitute. Ref has to stay over the ball for so long. Lots of teams will do this late in a play clock. Usually forcing offense to burn a timeout...... It's nothing new
