People tend to meet me at my highs, when I'm social and presenting well...and then don't listen when I try to tell them everything wrong, tell them the things I *know* I struggle with (like expressing my emotions, sorting out my life beyond work, etc). And they always tell me no, no, I'm so kind, I always help, there's nothing bad about me and I'm just talking myself down for no reason. No. It's for a reason. I'm self aware, but no one seems to believe that.

it would seem, to my mind, that the only people who care to leave a review, a summation of their feelings in entirety, are the ones who are finished. who intend to leave, who dont like you for one reason or another. the ones who enjoy your presence, who find you glorious, who truly like who you are, won't leave a review. they won't summarize all their feelings about you at once. why would they, when they can just show up? how could they, when everyday is new? you can only summarize what's already over so you'll never hear that from the people still watching, still showing up, still here with you

I think the problem lies with the fact that some people genuinely believe that you're amazing, you're everything you say you're not. But as time goes on, their flaws mingle with yours in a way they didn't expect. They begin to see that even though you're incredible, you're not incredible for them. There's nothing wrong with that, but nobody knows how to say that, so instead, they simplify it into "I expected you to be different" and that will always hurt more.
