I majored in history, the world will always require historians. Plus it’s a liberal arts degree so you learn a lot of transferable skills

“Why didn’t you go to college for something that makes money???” God forbid people pursue their interests rather than be part of the endless pursuit of wealth accumulation.

Capitalism brainwashes us to believe that an accountant is an viable career path while the arts and the social subjects are cast off as useless despite being the cornerstone of human culture

AI making all the non-liberal arts degrees equally useless on paper while somehow making liberal arts slightly more important given engineers can’t get ideas across as prompts is hilarious.

You know the Thing is, you can do a lot of things with history. Too many people have this neurominded perspective of the things you can do, and that's where they always go wrong. You gotta really expand your horizons. The thing about a college degree is it gives you interdisciplinary skill sets, so apply those damn interdisciplinary skill sets. Stop trying to do history teacher if you got the skills for more than that

My family wanted me to do engineering, and believe me I really tried, I switched between 3 different kinds until I I put my foot down and explained that it just wasn’t going to work out, it was either go into debt repeating courses I don’t understand or do a major I’m good at so I can have a good gpa for when I apply for law school, when from Ds and Fs to being an A student my last 3 years of college after changing my major
