You do not have to remain inside the identity of the person who was hurt. At some point, you get to choose a different role. Not the victim. The heroine. The woman who takes everything that happened and turns it into wisdom, boundaries, discernment, and power. You can choose love over fear. Compassion over resentment. Forgiveness over carrying someone else’s darkness inside your body. And you can challenge every painful story the relationship left behind: “I wasn’t enough.” “I wasn’t beautiful enough.” “I wasn’t worth choosing.” “I’ll never be loved like that again.” Those are stories.
